Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 450 g beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 350 g broccoli florets
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 60 ml soy sauce
  • 60 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Cooked rice, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.

  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and cook until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the skillet, then add the broccoli florets, garlic, and ginger. Cook, stirring frequently, until the broccoli is bright green and crisp-tender, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the broccoli, and pour the sauce mixture over the top. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce has thickened and the beef is heated through, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. Serve the Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry over cooked rice, if desired. Enjoy!

Note: If you prefer a spicier dish, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture or serve with your favorite hot sauce.
